In Taizhong
After we got off the bus from Taipei and arrived in Taizhong, we had to figure out how to get to Grandma's house because she had moved into a new house recently. The first taxi driver Dad waved over was evil! He said he couldn't take us to Grandma's house because we had luggage that wouldn't fit in his car (it would have - we packed our junk in a tiny Corolla in Taipei). Dad said he probably thought it was too close (within a mile) so he didn't want to go through the trouble of loading us up and dropping us off. >(
So, without knowing exactly where we were going, Dad, Rex, and I dragged our luggage and set off in the general direction in which Dad believed Grandma's house to be. After twenty or thirty minutes, we were lucky and saw Grandma outside just as she was about to enter the building. We had a happy reunion, and unloaded our things in her house. Dad slept for a while before taking on the task of calling all his Taizhong friends.
Dad, Rex, and I took a bus to Dad's pharmacist friend's house. I remember being inside the store 10 years ago! It's still somewhat as I pictured it to be. Rex and I sat and smiled as Dad chatted on with his friends. At night, the pharmacist took us to a Japanese-style restaraunt. We each had a little hot pot along with several other dishes.
