Saturday night in Fort Worth

Labor Day is a great time to go to Fort Worth. We headed downtown to the area known as Sundance Square. Here is a number of bars, restaurants and venues that come alive after dark, including lots of people and traffic, but free parking after 6pm. Our destination was The Flying Saucer, a pub frequented by the locals (mainly men). They only serve beer and wine, too bad for you martini girls, but a good beer challenge will make up for that. Succeed and receive a golden plate with your name hanging from the rafters, hince the flying saucers. Food wise, I tried the Saucer Bratzel, which is a pretzel with Bratwurst and cheese; very good, but skip the spicy mustard, nasty.
We sat outside to hear the band, don't recommend that in the Southern heat. Another balcony upstairs gives a good view of downtown, plus lots of seating inside along with a bar and more importantly AC.
Met some travbuddy converts, a young married couple who travel alot, maybe we'll see them on the site soon!
