Took a group of students over to the Yellow House at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX to enjoy food fun and fire. This was the annual fall bonfire where we bring students from various East Texas college together to share in a good time. The evening started off with a great ride from Kilgore to Nacogdoches which takes about an hour. The students seemed excited and there was plenty of conversation along the way. Lane Brown, our youth and family minister was our driver and he entertained the students with his wit and charm. We made it to the sight, which was a deer lease, and so our bus had to be parked up on the hill and we were trucked in by Matt Roach and his heavy duty truck. It was fun to watch branches hit the students as we passed by in the darkness of this cold evening. We eventually ended up at the fire and it was a great time. The food was hot and awesome and the students really seemed to like it. We all gathered around the fire and sang some songs and then we had some special entertainment from one of the North Street Elders, Jo Bob. He had the students in stitches singing some really funny song and telling some really great stories. It was a evening and we look forward to next year.
