Romblon Province a group of 22 islands. It is near Boracay the popular beach resort.
Travelling to Romblon
is such an adventure. You have to take a bus to Batangas
and take the Montenegro Boat at 5pm. It is an old boat with no luxury on it but there is some aircondition rooms. The boat sails to Odiongan, Tablas Island (part of Romblon) then to the Capital of Romblon. Romblon is famous for marble as the whole mountains are marble. The port is beautiful very secured from storm as it is surrounded by many beautiful islands. As it stop in Romblon capital I take the liberty to stop at Romblon Deli a European restaurant. It was a quick lunch as the boat only stop for half hour I nearly miss the boat. My final distination was Sibuyan Island only 2 hrs more in the boat. Sibuyan is where my mother came from, a nice, serene place, very mountainous.
This is the Romblon Harbor. Beautiful pumboats that is commonly find in the islands in Philippines.
Sibuyan is visited by foreigners to climb Mt Guiting Guiting but I never actually tried to climb it. I simply enjoy the place for its many streams, rivers, waterfalls that is so clean and drinkable. We have a holiday home by the beach. Sibuyan is remote, the opposite of Manila
but there is a lot of places to go without spending anything. Our night life is visiting little villages for barrio fiesta or simply a dance organized as an entertainment for the locals. There are at least 5 bars mostly karaoke but I enjoy just having a few drinks by the river with friends. For more info about Romblon province visit Romblon websites. I must warn you travel is uncomfortable but it is worth every bit of it. Just take it as an adventure.
