My favorate bar restaurant next to where I was staying City State Hotel. Located at 1335 Mabini Street, Ermita, Manila.
Ermita, Manila is a tourist belt area. A little bit rough compared to the night life area of Makati. But Ermita is kind of budget place and has a lot of character, the place is more affordable than Makati and Roxas Boulevard. There is Robinson Shopping Centre nearby and is huge but I enjoyed shopping there it is not far from where I stayed the City State Hotel a 3 star hotel within my budget. My Filipino friends came along to take me around 1st stop is a nearby cafe called Cafe Twenty Eight newly opened bar restaurant at 1335 Mabini Street opposite Calle5 night club an outdoor night club, very noisy. They have a live band playing every night not suitable for a meeting place coz its hard to make a conversation. Well, so got into this nice, dark, cozy bar called Cafe Twenty Eight where we going to wait the rest of the friends.
View from the entrance of Casa Tesoro Building.
This place is popular for Europeans a few of them there. There is music but not live and the volume is perfect, they have the tv going on silent playing live sport of soccer. The food is grilled cooked over the counter but there is an option to order European food so that suits me. I tried the deep fried calamari and it was the best calamari I tasted, soft and moist. And the drinks it was so cheap for a San Mig Light that was only 50 pesos a bottle (AS$1.20) I paid $8 a bottle in Australia. So we have a few drinks, I was happy to shout my friends some drinks. I feel so comfortable there I feel like in a bar in Surfers Paradise but we moved on later to another place where we can dance all night. I went back there again after my trip to the islands of Romblon
