Before going anywhere, we should stop at my house. I still had my clothing from the gym in my car and needed to wear other shoes. This was BiG's first meeting with Gunther, but was a brief one. No problem, we'd come back later. It was still early to have lunch and I read a sign about a market of highlands products. We were driving in circles and at the very end found another sign saying it was just on Sundays, grrr.
Ok, let's go to the rainforest food restaurant. It'd be the first time for me to try it too.
All the waiters were looking at us, but not starring. Apparently this wasn't the first time it happened, specially after an interview the owner/chef had on tv. We chose a table and it was time to order. Ok, let me handle this. To drink, no sodas or water, let's get traditional fruits juice. Ok, what to eat? There was a platter and I asked the waiter for how many people it was.
So, I ordered fish baked wrapped with banana plantain, tacacho (green plantain mashed and fried with some pork) and salad. But not a simple salad it had pieces of cocona - a local fruit. Yummy! Everything will be to share. According to BiG, I ordered as a pro, hahaha. While we were waiting for our food, BiG was telling me about Thai and their culture. Wow! It sounds so different but at same time similar to South American... I want to go there!!!
Then the waiter came with our dishes and 2 plates. It looks different than the food I usually have, but tasty. We both were ready to try something unusual. Time to have our own buffet. Salad was fresh and the cocona gave a special touch. The grilled fish was very good too and the tacacho.
Since it was sunny and BiG mentioned it the day before, we'd go and have ice cream. We drove to one of my favorite ice cream stores. We were full, but couldn't help to have something sweet. We'd get 2 ice creams, with 2 flavors each. I was in charge again and picked up non common (for him) flavors: maracuya & sauco (passion fruit & sort of blue berry), granadilla (local fruit sweet, fresh and smooth not an overwalming flavor), chirimoya (local fruit sweet and creamy) and frutti di bosco (mix of berries).
Last stop was where we started, my house. Now we took Gunther for a walk. It was 1hr walking around my neighborhood. Nothing outrageus, but fun. I wanted BiG to show a bit of my daily life. And he enjoyed it, hehehe. Gunther was acting crazy as usual, but fun. We had time to talk a lot and just chill out.
I had to drive BiG back home. I had a meeting and wouldn't be able to keep on hanging out with him. Later I called Christopher. They were already together and would go for dinner. Next morning they were leaving early to Cusco. Oh... well, they would spend a couple of days in Lima before flying back to the States and we have to meet then.
