so happy the camera was back!!!
Yesterday I sent a message to BiG, saying I'd be able to hang out with him in the afternoon. Today early in the morning I found his answer. He'd go out during the morning, but we could meet later. Perfect!

It was about 5pm when I went to Javier's house and BiG was already waiting for me. Christopher and Kelly would go to visit some relatives and do some shopping, while I'd take good care of BiG. Now it was time for him to know Yadi's Lima, hehehe. So, where to go now? I was thinking about going to grab an empanada for snack but didn't know if he was hungry or not. Then I got the best answer: "you don't need to be hungry to eat." hahaha. So true! hahaha. Yesterday at the food festival, the organizer cheff recommended an empanada. I knew the place was near the Love park and haven't tried it yet.
empanadas were too tasty, hehehe
So this was our 1st stop.

1st stop: empanada. This is a small place serving pizzas but also empanadas. To drink we asked for Inca Kola and chicha morada (purple corn refreshment). Then our empanadas came, one stuffed with corn and the other with aji de gallina (Peruvian dish about chicken in aji sauce). It was a bit cool outside, but it was so warm and cozy inside. Furthermore, the empanadas are great comfort food. BiG was telling me about what they were doing earlier, including cebiche and beer for lunch. After tasting our empanadas we were ready to move.

2nd stop: love park. We found a parking spot and started to walk along the park, from the light house until crossing the suicide bridge. It was a good idea to walk, it felt so good to stretch our legs although it was windy.
it's mine!!!
BiG found our weather similiar to San Francisco's one. I was giving a small history lesson, including recent history of the country. Hahaha. It felt so good to share a bit of our culture. Well, time to say good bye to Miraflores and go to Old Surco to visit another part of the city and experience something new too.

3rd stop: Old Surco. This part of the city is not touristy at all, although is charming. Surco (where I live) is a big area, having a modern but also an old part. We went to the old part which has a small plaza, a big church and also one of my favorite spots to try something Peruvian: anticuchos (cow's heart). After walking around the square and the history lesson about the area, we went to this small restaurant in a corner.
ending the night at the Angel's place ;)
I ordered the anticuchos, but that wouldn't be all. I ordered the combination I. It included the anticuchos, but also a mix of gizzards, tripes and other internal parts. How was it? Well, we finished it, hahaha. The texture is different, but the flavor was good. I like the Peruvian spices they used to marinate them before cooking. It was about 9:30pm when we were leaving the place but the night was just beginning.

4th stop: Barranco. A drink? Why not? But just one, since I was driving. I was thinking about going to my bar in Miraflores, but better go to the Angel place. BiG loved the decor and charming atmosphere here. We have been talking about the Lima Meet Up and I wanted him to see where was one of the places where we were hanging out. He got an Irish Coffee and I got a cocktail.

Our waiter was very helpful, furthermore according to BiG he was the most helpful waiter he ever had, hahaha. I asked him to take a pic of both of us and he told me, he'd do a good job since he's father was a photographer, nice! The soft live music and nice decoration made this the perfect place for ending a long and fun day, just chilling out and chatting. When the waiter was bringing the bill, he also brought a rose for me, how sweet!!!

Well, this was the perfect ending of a perfect day. I drove BiG back to Javier's and agreed to meet tomorrow around noon. Can't wait to hear what his friends say about what he ate, hahaha. Time to go back home and catch some sleep, I will wake up early tomorrow so I'd have enough time to work, go to the gym and meet BiG before lunch. It'd be a busy day. Love it! :)
