Tried to go to the Food Festival, but ended up going to a buffet and ate way too much :P

Thanks for my US$2 bill!!!
Despite I went to bed late last night, or early this morning (about 2am), I managed to go to the gym early and be ready to go by noon. Last night we all were talking about going to Mistura - the Food Festival - so that was the plan for the day. I changed their itinerary hehe. BiG was looking for a charger for his camera, so I met them at the mall. The tickets to the food festival were for sale in a supermarket, but they were already sold out. Oh no! Well, we drove to the park where it was taken place to see if we could find tickets there, but it was worse. Traffic started to get crazy blocks and blocks in advance. It took us long to arrive and when we did it, we didn't find anything else besides an endless line. I really wanted BiG to go. He'd have loved it.
happy and toasting for friendship and Peruvian experience!
Well, I'd tell him how it was. I'd already bought tickets for Sunday. I'd go there with my family, by the way a blog about it is coming soon :P

Ok, what to do now? We still wanted to eat Peruvian food and we all prepared ourselves for a big food experience, which means we were already hungry, hahaha. I just had a cup of tea for breakfast ;) Where to go now? Despite it was cloudy, we went to a restaurant that's right next to the beach. It was windy, but it was warm inside, plus all the food, yummy!!! We'd get more than enough calories, hahaha. This restaurant is very nice, have been here before and now they have Peruvian food, but also International dishes. Nevermind, focus on the Peruvian ones, hahaha.

Round 1 was about seafood - actually all the rounds were seafood for me, hehehe.

BiG was having a feast here, hahaha. And I was able to explain him all the dishes and how to mix them. It's really nice go to a buffet if everyone enjoys it, perfect! Yes, something to drink. Ok, something new. Algarrobina - the pisco cocktail that tastes like Baileys. Christopher and I got the Passion Fruit one. Kelly is thin and not tall, but she can eat! OMG! My respects!

I have tried cebiche and tiradito many times, but here I found a new one. Tiradito (slices of fish) with Cocona dressing. The cocona is a fruit from the rainforest, what a great combination! Ok, you'd never stop learning about Peruvian food, hahaha. A warm and tasty soup was part of round 2. BiG was having so much fun with the crawfish, hahaha. It was perfect having something hot. It was a bit chilly, brrrr.
Oh! that crawfish is trying to run away!

BiG's friends were a bit intrigued how we met. They found it so funny he had friends in Lima before even arriving hahaha. We were talking about TB and he met the Vegas and LA crew and I met some of them in KC Meet Up, so it was wonderful talking about common friends: Sal, RJ, Mell, Jen... sweet! BiG was also telling me about his Peru travel plans. They'd stay in Lima until the 30th and come back the 8th for a couple of days before going back to the USA. Mmm, I hope there would be more TB's during these days so we could have a mini Meet Up, that would be awesome!

Well, we were so full, but couldn't leave without trying desserts, hahaha. We went together to get desserts and got different ones so we could try a bit of everything.
OMG!!!
This is the way to go to eat out, hahaha. Found a perfect Eating Partner. After 2 1/2 hours eating, it was time to leave. Pfff, it was hard to get up, hahaha. Where to go now? a coffee? hahaha, just kidding.

Yesterday, we couldn't go into the church in Miraflores' square, so there we went. BiG was looking for art exhibition and the city hall always runs one. This time the topic was urban art. It was cool! There weren't pictures, but art pieces.  Some of them seemed to be familiar. Oh yes! I have seen the same characters in several graffitis around the city. The artist was the same. The exhibition was cool!

It was almost 5 when we left Miraflores and drove back home. Tomorrow they'd go south east of Lima, I'd like to join them but had plans with the family (including the food festival). Anyway, we'd meet on Monday! I had a great time and ate too much, so instead of taking a bus I decided to take a 20min walking, really needed it, hahaha.
