Well... today started out very early with a Vista Dome train ride to Aguas Calientes, the small town near Machu Picchu.  We arrived in town and were immediate taken up the mountain side for our tour.

Our guide was great.  We walked all over the main section and he was very good about explaining things for us.  You could tell he was very passionate about the history.  The tour took about 2 hours and we then had the rest of the afternoon to ourselves.  Kerry and I continued to walk around and take photos, deciding what our course of action would be for tomorrow.

As we left the park the line for the buses to take you down the mountain side was incredibly long.  So we got the hair brained idea to hike the trail down.  Wow... what an experience.  It was great but man... were we sore the next morning.  Took us about 1hr 15m to hike from the entry gate of Machu Picchu to our hotel.  We were ready for some dinner at that point.

Crashing early because we've decided to hike to the Sun Gate to see sunrise.  Early morning that will be!
