There are more motorcycles in Puerto Maldonado than there are people!
Today started very early as we left Refugio Amazonas and the Amazon River basin behind.  The boat ride was a bit longer than normal as we had to go farther down river to get to a different port.  It had rained yesterday for most of the night and morning and it was continuing to rain further up stream so the Tambopata River had swollen far beyond where it had been just a day or so ago.  The river gained about 3 meters in height and tripled in width.  A rather interesting boat ride.

We were on one of the later flights so our guide, Yordana, took us to a great little ice cream place in Puerto Maldonado to cut the wait time a little shorter.  We then hopped our flight Lima.

We checked into our hotel room and promptly took showers as it was the first hot shower in 4 days!  Afterwards we had the hotel manager make us a reservation at Astrid y Gaston for dinner.  The restaurant is one of Chef Gaston Acurio's restaurants and was quite amazing.  The food was phenominal and we greatly enjoyed the Peruvian wine.  All in all not a bad travel day!
