Day 10 - Berlin

This day, sadly, was not the most interesting. We left by train early in the morning and arrived in Berlin around two. Berlin was as dark, cloudy, and rainy as it could have possibly been. A horrible storm had moved into the city and we made the decision to remain in the station rather than venture out and risk soaking our packs. This was the first turn of bad luck, the second was equally annoying. We had planned to go from Berlin to Copenhagen on a night train until we found out the train only ran one time a week. We had to be quick in deciding our next move. We flipped through the book and came to two conclusions; the first was that we were able to take a night train to Paris, and the second was that we really had little interest in the north of Europe. With that said we booked the tickets and waited for our train.
We still had quite a bit of time and enjoyed Burger King in the train station before heading to Paris. The night train seat we paid for was exactly what we expected, a normal compartment seat. Luckily, we were the only three in the car and were able to spread out. Seb and I slept on the seats and Joe took the bullet this time and slept on the floor. All seemed well until we realized they don't believe in any sort of heating system and the train was ice cold. We all layered up and soon were sound asleep and heading to Paris. Like I said, not the most interesting, but an experience I'm glad we had. Cheers.
