Headed to Puerto Viejo for a bit... met a nice Canadian, Sam, on the bus who was going to the same hostel as I was, Rockin J's.  We didn't really talk until we got off the bus and realized we were going to the same place.  He had just arrived in CR.  Got to the hostel and couldnt decide if I should get a tent or a hammock since the 'dorms' were full.  SO glad I didn't get the dorms they were nasty!  I was a little skeptical about the hammock, but it ended up being amazing!!!  (and only $5/night!!)  Sam and I got hammocks next to e/o and became good travel mates!! I spent about a week in PV and we hung pretty much every day.  Met a lot of cool and fun people in Puerto Viejo.  It is known as being a 'rasta town,' and kind of dangerous.

The walk into town from the hostel is kind of far, so I prob wouldn't do it by myself.  Otherwise I ran into no problems while I was there.  One day we rented bicycles and biked into Manzanillo with a couple girls from Cali.  Went out a couple times at night, otherwise ate/shopped and not many else big things. Straight up chillin!  The beach wasnt as nice as the Pacific side and the weather was kind of rainy, but I still really enjoyed it and met so many interesting people.  It's cool how you can travel just 2 hours or so away and the culture of a town can vary so much.  There is an attached restaurant at the hostel that has REALLY good food (@E's).   A few days into the trip I ran into the Boston boys, Marc & Shane, and their friend Brian.  They were heading to Bocas.  They were returning to PV on Fri night to leave Sat for a white water rafting tour before heading back home.  They invited me to join, I decided to take them up on the invite, which was a great way to end the week! Bus picked us up at Rockin' J's, went rafting down the Pacuare, said goodbye to the boys, and the driver brought me to La Fortuna! Arenal and hot springs are next!
