I arrived at Tamarindo Backpackers and started feeling better. A few other travellers arrived at the hostel the same day, two girls from California and 5 friends/cousins from Florida/Uruguay. We all were chatting that night in the common area, the guys had a car and were headed to Playa Conchal the next day. They asked if we wanted to come with them. I kind of wanted to hang around and check out Tamarindo, but at the last minute decided to go with them. I'm SOO glad I did!! Playa Conchal was AMAZING and probably the prettiest beach I've ever seen! That night we all went out, dancing and such, and even stopped at the beach and went skinny dipping that night. haha I don't think I had ever done that but it was so fun! (and dark hehe) It was a really fun group and we were having a lot of fun all hanging together.
Surfing at Playa Grande!
The next day we all packed in the car and headed to Playa Grande, a popular surfing spot a little north of Tamarindo. We got to the beach and it was SO hot. A couple of the guys were starting to burn so they had to build a little tent to stay in the shade. It was also soo windy that day which was kind of annoying. The sand was whipping all over the place and kind of hurt! The waves were HUGE though which was good for surf. We headed back into Tamarindo and stopped for dinner at a little soda. I asked the waitress for Lizano and a local was so impressed he said "I've never heard a tourist request Lizano!" When in Rome!! :) The next day all of us were leaving Tamarindo so we decided to go out. Someone bought a bottle of Tequila which was gone before we even left the hostel, then we headed to Pacifico where we did alot of dancing and took many more shots of Tequila!! It was a very fun night, and it was fun meeting all of the cool people I did.
I had to take a photo of the tag so I remembered what it was called :) Beautiful jewelry!
I was very sad once I got home & I realized I had lost my necklace that Judah gave me! It had a shell from MA beach and it was a gift so I was sad I couldn't find it. I stopped back at Pacifico in the morning just in case they found it... the employees were cleaning the bar and one of the ladies found my necklace!! It made my day. The guys took off and so did Jess and Alli... I decided to stay one more day, I needed a day to myself. I went to Tamarindo beach and relaxed for the day, and did some shopping later. I was heading to Liberia in the morning to make my way up to the Rincon de la Vieja National Park which I really wanted to see. I found this really neat jewelery store, the owners were SO nice and I ended up purchasing a beautiful Larimar necklace for myself and a Jade necklace for my mom.
Alli and I lost at sea...
They were kind of expensive, yet I wanted some nice quality jewelery to bring home with me. Overall Tamarindo was a great time. Kind of touristy, but it was fun to meet fun people and do some partying. Also being able to visit a couple nearby beaches made the experience awesome. I live for the beach!
