My days in Sounio.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a few days in the Grecotel in Sounio, but if you want to go just for the day, check this out: http://www.athensguide.com/sounion/
I learned that Poseidon is the God of the Sea, Earthquakes and Horses and also was the protector of many Hellenic cities, although he lost the contest for Athens to Athena. Who would of thought so?
After all, his Temple was magnificent, at some point there was a giant statue of him with a Golden trident that look like fire from any side of the sea you were coming from. The trick was simple, they had a big fire fountain in the middle of the majestic building and the reflect of the fire in the trident make it shine and look like it was on fire. Poor people of the ancient times, I will run as far as I can if I find such a magical and threaten figure.
The cape Sounio is a little part of heaven, but there is not much there just beach and some restaurants and resorts. I was in the Grecotel and had the opportunity to jog every morning to the Temple after yoga, Amazing!
I really felt the strength of the Gods and the peace of our life in earth. The whole cape is a magical place, so mythical, so relaxing I could expend a week or two every year, but only if I had a few millions to blow around the world. It's not cheap. But day tours are not that expensive and you get to see what I am telling you.
Although, if you saw Athens and you are tired of watching ruins and marble stones that don't have any mythical meaning to you, here I will save you the trip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fU2frdVyGM
