and magical it was.
Venice has special place in my heart.
it's true when people say that you'll fall in love with Venice.
i have to mention that i am slightly hydrophobic.
but being surrounded by so much water in Venice had a really calming, dream-like effect on me.
we went to the islands nearby, Murano, Burano and Lido.
ok, the boat ride there was stomach churning as the boat was small and there was no sight to see except the sea.
but i would endure it just to go back again.
Burano is a colourful and quaint town. quiet and peaceful. such a darling little place:)
we went to Murano and had a glimpse of the venetian glass-making in the process.
Lido is like a beach area. it was raining when we went so it was totally empty.. which was great. haha.
later in the evening we took the boat from San Marco back to the train station.
Venice then was illuminated, ghostly and strangly romatic. that and conversations with my lovely host got my attention so i didnt feel like barfing at all, throughout the ride, entirely!
an enchanting and bewitching place. Venice is a MUST to anyone who travels to Italy, hydrophobic or not.
