Leaving Oslo
September 8, 2009
Today my holiday and African adventure started. My flight was not until noon, so I planned to sleep in, but that was not going to happen. Woke up at 4 am, too excited I guess. Wanted to go back to sleep, but the garbage truck and later the paper recycle people made sure I didn“t. Got up at 7:30 am, had a nice breakfast and was off to the airport at 9 am.
The trip to the airport went as smooth as it could and with tub and bus on time. At the airport I went to the BA counter and was told to check in at business class (even though I had a tourist class ticket). Was checked in and got my seat, 19A, in less than 2 minutes. Even got a priority tag on my checked in baggage. Going through the gate I was made aware of a seat change, to 6A. Could not believe it. I got business class. WOW! Once in the air I was served champagne and then could choose between a cold or a hot meal. Chicken tikka salad with chickpeas being the cold option and spicy salmon with egg noodles the hot. Everything was just lovely. Drinks were cold, meals nice and hot and the service fantastic.
This trip sure had got a good start!
