One of the most famous hikes in the area is the Tres Lagos where you hike for 8 hours (or take 2 days and camp out) to a great viewpoint of the Fitz Roy range. We had a beautiful clear day for it and the mountains were visible throughout.
Maggie and I set out at 11am after a coffee and fruit salad at our favourite Panderia and spent the day hiking up 1,000m through mountains and forests and beautiful lakes. It´s a great time to be here too as it´s just before peak season so the trail was pretty quiet. The last hour was a steep uphill climb which was really tough but the end result was really worth it. The wind was really strong and it got bitterly cold but the spectacular view kept us warm and it was a great sense of achievement.
Trekking down was just as tough though as the steep areas was literally sand and rocks so there wasn´t much to support your feet but we made it back down and headed to the cerveceria for a juice to celebrate our achievement! Dinner that night was at a gorgeous little place called Estepa .... good food, good excerise, fresh air and then sleep!
