So here i sit after nearly three weeks in Medellin. After 7 months of hostel living I lived in a cool apartment right opposite uni with a lovely brother and sister (Nicolas and Catalina) where I didn`t have to boil water in a frying pan, eat cereal with a fork or sleep in a dorm full of 10 smelly guys (although that does have it`s advantages sometimes!). I have been to two Nacional games and am officially "verde" in Medellin. I´ve survived three weekends, consumed more aguardiente than most Colombians and watched incredible live Salsa and Tango. I´ve also have graduated uni for after a two week intesnive Spanish programme where i know my "fui" from "estuvimos" and Prenombres complemento indirecto from directos.
Medellin´s reputation in Western news does it little justice (what is absolutely true is that the women are STUNNING!) but any traveller will tell you it´s one of the coolest cities around. From Parque Lleras to Parque Poblado, the salsa and tango clubs of the centro and not forgetting the fact it´s home to Botero, the city has everything you could need. I am completely taken.
It´s always hard to sum up a city in words so i´ll let the pictures do the talking, it´s been a great few weeks with amazing people and experiences. Here´s some of them ...
