Hayley, Raila and I at one of the many nights out
Raila and I flew solo to Floripa as Jonas flew home to meet his new niece (ahhhhh!). After the "rustic" Panatanal we were really glad to get back to civilisation. Opting to fly rather than take a 30 hour bus, we caught the 3am Gol flight out of Campo Grande and into Floripa. Unfortunately when we arrived it was through clouds which we hadn't anticipated. Still we checked into the hostel and got aquainted with the city, Brasi's per kilo restaurants where you pay by the weight of your plate and started our love affair with acai. Not bad for a rainy day! That night we joined forces with the girls in our dorm and headed out for the night to see Seb Fontaine play at a local club ... love it.
Pool party fun
I'm in Brasil and pay to see an Engl;ish DJ play!

The highlight of the stay had to be the P12 pool party on the Sunday. The sun finally got its hat on and came out to say hello and we spent the day partying with the rich and not so famous at a stunning pool side club that reminded me of Nikki Beach. Cool music, cool cocktails, a great atmosphere and the sunshine combined to make a brilliant day. What also kept us entertained was the variety of bottoms on display. The Brasilian girls may not sunbath topless but they certainly have their bums out! All shapes and sizes were in thong bikinis and despite being with a group of girls we spent the whole day staring! When the sun went down the beach towels went away, the heels came out (backpackers not included) and the party went to the bar where a great DJ was on the decks getting the crowd going. We partied till the wee hours when we were thrown into the waiting minivan to take us home. Life is hard!

The rest of the time in Floripa was spent hanging out on the beautiful surf beach, Mole, with the girls from our dorm, eating Acai with granola and banana and bikini shopping. It's a nice group with Hayley from South Woodford (!) Laura and Erica from Oz and Rebecca from the US. We all decided to head North together and as I now own a Brazilian bikini I feel ready to hit the beach towns. The locals may deem it boring but i'm quite happy the bum is covered! Paraty here i come.
