After sitting in the hostel in San Jose trying desperatley to figure out what to do with 3 days before flying to Cuba i was mindlessly flicking through Facebook and looking for options when i discovered that a bus was leaving in 20 mins for Montezuma via Santa Teresa. Direct bus for $12, done! The joy of travelling solo is that a rash decision can be made and in 20 mins after a rather hair raising taxi journey i was on a bus bound for the Pacific Coast.
Widely acclaimed and meant to be the most beautiful part of Costa Rica i was looking forward to some days on the beach chilling. However as the bus journey progressed it was clear the weather had other things in mind for me.
Arriving at night to Tranquillo Backpackers i was anything but Tranquillo! However i met some lovely people and we sat playing cards and laughing at the travel adventure stories we had. The next day wasn`t quite brilliant sunshine but eventually the sun made an appearance and we managed to get some time on one of the most beautifully wild beaches i`ve seen on the trip and see the most gorgeous sunset to date. That night we went to the beach and lay on the sand looking at the stars and taking in the milky way ... a lovely differehnt way to spend a Saturday night!
The next day was sunshine all the way and i got my day in the sun .. hooray! Agatha may have wrecked havoc for a short while but i had the last laugh!
