Whirlwind tour round The Alps. 6 countries, a rendezvous with mates and a football game in Germany all to fit into 5 days, including the fact that I had the notion to go to Liechtenstein :-D

Departure

Glasgow's Coat Of Arms

Had decided to go out via Milan, for a number of reasons, and that meant an early start at 5-30am to get to Prestwick Airport. Prestwick is actually about 40 miles south west of Glasgow and takes about an hour to get out of the city and down the M77 motorway.

Chiefly used as a base for 'low cost' airlines Ryanair and Wizz and really isn't up to much. It's Scotland's 4th airport (behind Glasgow International, Edinburgh and Aberdeen) . Not well served by either rail or bus in the early mornings and late night, so I had to get a lift down. Had aleady checked in online, which you have to do now with Ryanair, and they still charge you £5 for the privilege, but it's about £40 at their ticket desk if you show up without your own boarding card and they have to print you one off. Dropped bag off at the check in and only had an hour to wait for take off.
