The town sparawls around a stunning tidal lagoon whose entrance guided by two rocky cliffs called The Heads. The hub of Garden Route, this one sleepy village now bustles with pubs and clubs. The lagoon and the waterfront are mostly a set out of modern white town and residential. Totally contrasts to shanty village as one entered along the main road. He’s been doing the tour for last couple of month for tourist that interested to see up-close to black community outer Knysna.
I wasn’t too happy with the tour as the guide seems pretty unaccustomed to the area and his knowledge was only on the surface. Cost me 300 rand (€30) for 3 hours tour and 20 minutes drive by to the area. That’s unreasonable. His explanation was pretty general, drove us to the shanty village and dropped us and let the local do the talking, I could do better! But only because he knows the local and tourist not advisable wandering on their own, I let it go
