Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium, located in Atlanta, Georgia at Pemberton Place, is billed as the "world's largest aquarium" with more than 8.1 million US gallons of marine and fresh water housing more than 100,000 animals of 500 different species.  A parking garage is located next to the aquarium and costs $10.00 for the day to park there.  The aquarium is located near the World of Coca-Cola building and the CNN building.

I had to visit the aquarium to see what it was all about.  It's a huge aquarium but I expected it to be larger in terms of the entire complex.  There is a lot to see there and they divided the aquariums into six different themed sections (Cold Water Quest, Georgia Explorer, Ocean Voyager, River Scout, Tropical Diver, and a 4D Theatre).

They have aquarium cafe and gift shops for those who are hungry and want to buy a souvenir or two.  The cafe prices are naturally expensive just like the items sold in the souvenir shops.  I didn't buy anything.  I just looked around taking pictures of all the different fish.

After leaving the Georgia Aquarium, I took some pictures of the Dr. John S. Pemberton statue.  Dr. Pemberton was the dude who invented Coca-Cola back in the late 1800s.  It's pretty cool that almost everyone in the world has tried his products one time or another.  After taking pictures around the area and snacking on the go, it was time to leave.

I do recommend visiting the Georgia Aquarium if you are in the Atlanta area.  Here is their website: http://www.georgiaaquarium.org/.  The website provides information on ticket prices, directions, and general information about the aquarium.
