I am in love with Jack Sparrow and I have to admit that I was a bit jealous when my roommate came back proudly with a picture with him… In addition, she told me how fun it was where she met him, so she wanted to go back there. As I am curious, I decided to join her.
Madame Tussauds is a famous wax museum in central London. I can’t remember how much we paid because we bought tickets with a special offer for people going to London by train: “2 for 1”. You have two tickets for the price of one in a lot of attractions in London (even restaurants). I just know that it is more than 20£ for a normal ticket.
We spend around 3 hours with the most famous celebrities of the world… included Jack Sparrow! This attraction can be very fun if you go with friends as you can touch (play?) with the statues, make stories and so on. Most of them are really well made and from different times and sectors.
We were lucky because, as it was during a week day, it was quite quiet!
Just a big disappointment: Hugh Grant and Jude Law were not there, neither Prince William nor Prince Harry… Was I really in England?
What I really enjoyed, after Jack Sparrow of course, was the Chamber Live.
However, I don’t really recommend this place for those who are in London for a very short time. In my opinion, it is very touristic an even if it can be fun, it is not specific to London and it does not bring any cultural dimension.
But… as I said, I had fun!
You can find the list of all the celebrities on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Madame_Tussauds
- Time spent there : around 2 or 3 hours
- Things to do / nightlife: 6/10 (fun, but I think there are better attractions in London for people who are just visiting quickly!)
- How I get there : by train and tube (station Baker Street)
