This was such a fun day, wow so much to say , so many fun memories. from having to be frisked like criminals by the military at a check point to chatting with a Venezuelan friend about crazy hugo chavez to sampling new foods and having a parrot the colors of colombian flag on my arm, so many memorable things. On Tuesday Diana told henry we would go to El Penol on Saturday(my last saturday in town) he said he wanted to go also. By saturday he had gathered more people and i added 1 also, for a total of 14 making the trip that day. we all met at the bus station and took a bus around 8:30am and 2 hours or so later we were there :) I strained my hamstrings the week before, so i was really feeling the climb up to the top, so many friggin steps :P and coming back down they fealt like jello. then we took a chiva back into the town of guadape and had lunch and most of us bought some beverages, yes it was beer and rum :) then we took a boat to a small island, gave the kids there some money for letting us enjoy the bird(got cool pics+video and hung out there a bit. when we headed to the bus stop we had time to grab some typical street food which was cool. took the bus home and parted ways. i wish we could do a reunion each year, i really enjoyed talking and hanging out with individuals from the group that day.
