Casco viejo from taxi

My last day in Panama city would be a relaxing one...no sightseeing or anything. I had only one goal ; to get a little bit of colour before I go back to UK...well that did`nt happen , as it was pouring down all day, typically !
I checked in to the same hostel as the last time, simply because it was a really cheap place with cheap beer, and a perfect location in the middle of amazing Casco Viejo !

I spent most of the day drinking beer after beer in my dorm bed, knowing that this would be the cheapest beers I would have in a very long time. I suppose the other people there took me for a chronic alcoholic..
In the evening I had to go buy some souvenirs, which is something I thought I should do after 5 weeks of travelling. So I bought a Panama hat (that I very well know I will never use again) , and a beer-t-shirt.

On my way out !
That is my new idea ; I will collect beer T-shirt with the local brew from all the countries I the world I visit from now on ! so far I have Thailand, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama, and I can easily buy one in UK where I am living at the moment !

I had a beautiful Quesedilla meal at great Tequila resturant, and  then I would have a long night sleep before the next days horrid travels.

The following day I went to the airport many hours before I had to ,to make sure i caught the flight to New York. In New York it was just as horrible as the last time I had a transit. First a long wait where I was questioned by two different police man on random checks. Then questioned by the policeman taking my fingerprints and picture. Then lastly cop number 4 came to ask my life story at the luggage place.

The city from my car !
He did`nt trust me, as I was obviously nervous at this point after beeing treated like a criminal(thank you USA) just because of a simple transfer , when I have no intention of visiting the country.
I was really nervous when he took me away....I was thinking in the lines of anal probes and such...
He went through all my stuff, and asked a number of questions, often repeating them to check if my story was coming apart ! Then he was really suspicious of how I could travel for 5 weeks when I was unemployed.....ehhhm ,hello ? Don`t you think I can afford a trip in the cheapest countries in the world after working for 4 months in the most expensive country in the world, and living for free at home with mommy ?   seriously.....
I`ll pay a lot of extra money to avoid layover in USA from now on.
Sun is getting up in the morning hours
The ironic thing is that at my port of destination, which was London, the whole passport check took about 15 seconds...compared to the 2 hours spent at the stop-over airport.
is

I took the first bus to Southampton, then the boat over to my new exotic home -  Isle of Wight !

So for this time the journey is over....my mom keeps asking me if this is`nt it ; " now you`ve travelled again, and must be tired of that non-sense travelling thing"   .... and she is sooooo wrong ! the more I travel , the more I want to travel ! I may have a disease or addiction , I haven`t even got a job yet, and already started planning where my next trip should take me....

Who needs a job when you can find hostels that sell cheap beer :-) Sold me on that one :-D

Definately off putting for visiting the US the way you were treated :-(
