We decided agains going to Taboga island as there was`nt any cheap hostels there anymore, and we did`nt see the point of going there for one day when there is`nt really much to do exept going to the beach...and we`ll be doing enough of that on Bocas Del Toro anyway. So we got up early and went to the notorius Coca Cola cafe to have breakfast. The cafe were Che guevare was a regular , and presidents used to come to. It was like any other crummy little cafe we`ve been to though, and the pancakes with fried egg and syrup were`nt anything to write home about.
We made our way to the Rainforrest park which is quite close to the city , actually the most urban rainforrest in the world ! It cost 2$ to get in, which is nothing for the experience you get. The trail goes thorugh the whole of the park and offers some amazing views of trees that are up to a thousand years old. The sounds and smell of the forrest are great , but the discomusic from the city is pretty disturbing...
There are 46 mammals,250 different bird species and 30 species of reptiles here , but we did`nt actually see to many of them...I think it`s a good idea to get there early in the morning to see the birds. We did see the Kapuchin monkeys jumping around from branch to branch, and we saw a little iguana. The coolest bird we saw was a kolibri.
The viewof the city from the top of the mountain was great !
