Well we´ve made it here!
Surprised ourselves with how nervous we felt at the airport compared to the normal confidence we have with travel. Still, flight with British Airways was good, managed to sleep and everything :o) Sarah even managed to communicate with the Argentine lady next to us, who proceeded to write down a list of things to do and see in Buenos Aires.
Impressions of the city so far are that it´s a mix of a Mediterranean and American feel, with some tango thrown in whenever possible. We´ve spent our time wandering the streets, taking in the sights as we come across them - Casa Rosada, Congresio, the copy of the Washington Monument, Avenida Florida, the ecological park, Boca Juniors stadium (and Racing stadium, but that´s a longer story) and various palaces and plazas. Our Hostel is basic, but comfortable and friendly staff who have recommended a good place for steak tonight - looking forward to that. All in all we´re relaxed and settling into this travel thing.
Today´s highlight for me was buying tickets to Argentina v Peru on Saturday, whereas Sarah enjoyed the random military marching band ceremony we stumbled across in Plaza San Martin. Each to their own.
That´s all for now
