Traveling to Tokonamae City - Pottery
Seriously, I don't know how Japanese people stay so skinny!! Today I woke up to a wonderful breakfast and of course I ate it all....I feel obligated to take everything they give me. I had watermelon, 2 eggs, ham, 2 sugary waffle thingys, liquid yogurt, broccoli & Orange Juice. MMMmmm it was good though.
Today we drove about an hour by car to
Or they also use old sakie jugs or sulfuric acid jugs, it was a wonderful sight. I shopped like I’ve never shopped before. I bought something like 8 pottery pieces there from different people. My favorite part is that I bought a traditional tea bowl; this was one of my goals to do on this trip. It was on sale too!
This place really was amazing for the pottery enthusiast. They had fired clay everywhere, I can't even explain to its full extent. Only pictures will do. Another amazing part was they converted a lot of their old soda kilns into shops. And these kilns were huge!! 20 foot tall with years of soda accumulation on the walls, it was a beautiful sight.
Next we went to this tile manufacture and museum. This was pretty cool to see but they weren't really geared towards English so we just stumbled around.
I bought so much today though; I only wonder how I’m going to get all this fragile pottery home to
lol, so we bought some gum today which was called Men’s style, it was hilarious. I chewed a lot of it so apparently I have men’s style now. Just thought you'd like to know.
