Toyota Automobile Museum

Today breakfast was great of course; watermelon, sausage, toast....mmmm. Our first adventure today was the Toyota Automobile Museum. One thing that I never knew was it used to be Toyoda but they changed it because it apparently was too difficult to say... I think when ever I say Toyota I actually say Toyoda....lol. Anywho, it was great seeing all these old cars. All the way from the very first car made to the latest electric car. We even had this cute little Japanese tour guide lady with this cute little 50's style outfit on.

OH and for lunch I had my first almost American meal, it was nice....reminded me of home. Beacon & Egg sandwich with French fries.

After lunch we took the Subway to the international Design Center in Downtown Nagoya.

I'm a loser, i know
We had a lecture from some dude who used to work at Toyota and designed the first robot operated bus. It was a sweet bus I must say. The lecture was alright, I’m not so much interested in Graphic Design....so yeah.

And the after we had a couple hours to kill so of course the first thing we did was found a bar. It was this cute little thing with this cute Japanese guy who was so happy to talk with us and see us. He was very helpful. We all had beer and I tried Saeki... or how ever you spell it. Yeah, not for me...tastes like straight rubbing alcohol.

Next we took the subway to meet Haruru at this festival. There were TONS of people and TONS of little food booths. I had a strawberry creep and a chocolate covered banana....MMM. Two of our guys with us got obnoxiously drunk, they were yelling and running into people. Really giving the Japanese people a reason to hate Americans.

...so we ditched those drunken asses and headed to the Shrine. We got there and threw coins in and preyed. This is a huge part of the Japanese culture. I feel so privileged to see this and experience it. While walking we say a lot of traditional Dance and music. The drum performances were amazing. Also the attire of the performers and people enjoying the festival is exactly what I think of when I think of Japan. Very beautiful dress.

To finish off the night they had as hour long firework display. They weren't that great....kind of sparse but they had two spurts in the middle (like Grande finales) and then the finish was the best. It was just a bit long.

Oh random fact, to buy a dog here in Japan it costs about $4,000 dollars or more!!

I’m not super into cars but this museum was really worth the trip, I had a good time. For only 1000Yen (about $10.00USD) we got into the museum with a tour from this cute little Japanese lady. She was dressed in this cute little cute and carried around this little speaker and microphone. She couldn’t speak English but she had a hour long tour memorized in English, she was awesome!

There was two stories of cars dating back from the start of it all. Some are originals and some are reproductions, but they are all beautiful and amazing to look at. There is a fun kid zone too. After the tour (which is a little long) you can enjoy a meal down in the restaurant which is very good. I suggest the cream soda (it’s neon green!).
