Free day with host faimly- Karaoke

Ryo singing some karaoke during our 5 HOUR session

Today I had to be woken up by Satomi, my host mom. First time. I usually wake up early like 6 or 7 but she had to wake me up at 9am. I keep getting mosquito bites; I have 6 right now I think. ergh. I showered and ate quickly and then Ryo (son, 18) and I were off to the Nissin train station to head to Saeka station to meet 3 of his friends. He was very excited to take me to talk English with his friends and they were very excited to meet me. It was fun. We headed straight to the Karaoke place. Now this is weird, in Japan Karaoke is HUGE, they love it. So they have Karaoke places where you can rent a room with a huge TV screen and books with hundreds of American and Japanese songs. Then this controller that you input a code to select the song you want.

Then the room is belted with loud music and you have two mics to sing into.

Shoes are every where in Japan!
It was hilarious but so much fun. IN America we always joke when doing Karaoke but in Japan they are serious and love it. I was embarrassed but I did sing with the girls three times. But get this, we were there for 5 straight hours!! lol, they love it.

After Karaoke we went and had ice cream in the Saeke Train station and talked for an hour and a half. They were very interested in all sorts of American culture, like bush, the land, what we eat, our houses, etc. I explained some drinking games to them and taught them some swear words in English, lol. And they taught me how to count to 100 in Japanese. Sweet!

I had so much fun hanging out with Ryo today, he is so much fun. We laughed and laughed, it was a good time.

5 hours of karaoke cannot be good for the soul. ;)
