An old traditional Japanese Festival
I woke up at 4am today due to jet lag. I forced myself back to sleep until 6am. The shower was nice, oh and the toilet seat is heated, strange.....lol, but nice. Breakfast was good. Ham & eggs. The egg yokes looked different than what I’m used to. They were Bright Neon Orange, but they tasted the same.
We took the train today to Tokugawaen City. On the walk to the Garden we were going to visit we rain into this festival. It was a great sight to see this. It was basically this huge tall ornate wagon being pushed and pulled by tons of people in Japanese robes and clothing. They were yelling and chanting and playing music. It was so great to see this. Apparently it is a part of this big festival going on with the Tokugawaen museum where we were going. The Museum was great to see. And the Orchid botanical garden was very pretty.
I still haven't seen anyone who's not Japanese, I’m the only foreigner.
Then we took a cab to this huge shopping district. Kind of like a very popular outdoor mall. We ate there in a traditional Japanese restaurant. Took off our shoes and sat on mats on the floor. I really really enjoyed this meal. I had chicken, with miso soup, salad. Very good.
