A rainy day in Tokyo

Today was a little rough waking up. This trip is really starting to take its toll on my energy level....but it's worth it. We took the subway and the JR train for a while and then walked forever to finally make it to this building called AXIS Inc. It's this magazine company with all these high-end stores. First off we didn't get to see the magazine office because we didn't have an appointment, then the gallery wasn't open to the public and the all the stores didn't open till 11 so we waited for a half hour. Finally at 11 we got to look around but the stores were ridiculously over priced. It was kind of not worth all the work traveling to get there. But the good part was on our way to find a restaurant for lunch we found a Hard Rock Cafe!! American food! Ok, let me say that I have really enjoyed the food here. I've eaten a lot and am surprised with everything I did eat  (since I hate seafood, but I tried a bunch)....but I will say that a week and a half of eating strange food and straight Japanese food I have started to miss American style, greasy fatty huge portions, lol. So when we saw Hard Rock we almost cried. MMM I had the best cheese burger, it wasn't as big as it would have been if I bought it in America but it was just as good. We were like in America, it was strange...80s butt rock and English posters everywhere, it was strange. Once we stepped out of the building it was like culture shock all over again.

After lunch we wondered around forever again trying to find the Takeo Paper Distributor. At this point it started raining and we were all cranky and tired. lol we were one pathetic sight. After an hour of wondering the streets two guys from the company came and found us and took us to the building. This was a pretty cool building; the first thing you do is walk into this showroom for their hundreds of different types of papers. It's this huge white room with every square inch of the walls are made out of these white draws full of paper. It felt very sterile, but cool. They gave us all these little samples and talked to us a bit. I was too tired to pay attention.

Once home I napped! yes...it was amazing. I only slept for 45 minutes though :( Then James, Erin & I ventured out in the rain to find dinner. We ended up eating at this little Italy restaurant...mmm non Japanese food again :) lol, I’m a loser. And then we had ice cream. What a way to finish the night.

Wow- I love reading your blog... I have been reading about all of your adventures since before I went to Japan and now that I am back. I only went for a week but I loved it.. I've only been back in California for a week but I already miss Japan. If you have a chance go to Nara. That was by far my favorite part of the trip, as well as the Tokyo Dome area. I was waaaaayyyy too scared to go on that rollercoaster. I admire you for being so brave- that thing was CRAZY!!!!!! Anyways, keep writing! I am a devoted reader :)
