PENANIAN in the district of NANGGALA,an interesting deserted Torajan village,a Unesco site.

To the east lies the"rante",the ceremonial ground and the graveyard with wooden coffin houses.
One other feature of this village is the usual presence of thousands of bats,sign of prosperity,nesting in the trees at its entry and around in bamboo trees,unfortunately for us,we have seen none and nobody too!
Few weeks before our visit was held a funeral ceremony of an important notable with a minister attending and one can see some remains:pic of the deceased,signs...
This settlement is a Unesco World Heritage Site.
