Checkout at 10:30 this morning for a 45 mn drive to Sam Ratulangi International Airport opened since 2001.On the road we saw the second world's highest statue of a Christ after the statue of Rio de Janeiro. This statue depicts a white robed Christ and looks like drift .We fly Garuda no more blacklisted since last July with a 45 minutes delay. As we had plenty of time,we enjoyed the comfy Coelacanth lounge where we had for 6,5 Usd drinks, food, free internet and a young, loud, heckling, non professional but smiling staff.

Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport, located 17 km from Makassar city has a new terminal opened last August and we met there TOPIK ,a French and English speaking guide and our driver Rull.On the way to Pare Pare we saw interesting Bugis houses and nice sceneries of mountains. From Makassar airport,we drove 4 hours 30 on the main road often under repair to reach Pare Pare and the Kenari Bukit indah hotel, 160 km further.
