been in jo-burg for the last week, i leave to mozambique in a couple days.. jo burg is impressive, its changed so much, seems really safe this time being here, its so beautiful, alot of economical and industrial activity, new big buildings being constructed, construction all over the city.. love the biltong, love the south african beer, ruskers, windhoek, black label.. mm. also enjoyin the sprookndiesels.. spend the days driving around the city exploring, walking around different areas... i got hooked up with a volunteer program called children of fire, very powerful, intense yet fun. the burned kids come and stay any where from a week to years at the house and school, there they are educated and takin care of... surgery appointments are arranged and taken place in the area... some kids have minor burns some have severe burns some are blind, yet the kids are all very happy and excited. i helped in the school for a couple days reading, writing, teaching the kids about newmexico and the indian reservations ive lived on... i taught two little blind boys how to swimm.. haaha it was so much fun, they loved it, couldnt stop laughting and splashing,... spend a day organizing hundreds of shoes into pairs that we took over to the township of alexadra, where a fire had burned down a number of shacks, i met these funny kids who wanted to talk and talk and talk so we did... they were so freindly and funny and interesting. they made me stay all day showing me around there home taking me into many little shack bars where we would drink cheap african beer. it was quite an experience, i was the only white boy for miles, and people there were suprised to see a white kid hanging and drinking with a group of black kids.... what poverty i saw.. yet again these people were so happy and strong and beautifull.. i
