Full, free day in Nice, and our first chance to have any kind of sleep-in, which I took full advantage of. After getting back from the bar, I’d had a rough sleep. I’d gotten up three times during the night to use the bathroom, but could never find it, so would get back into bed crying. I finally found the bathroom door (there were only two doors in our hotel room- one to the hallway, one to the toilet) on my fourth try! (Looking back, it was so funny!) Needless to say, I woke up hungover. I think I woke up around noon, got ready, and went in search of everyone else, who’d all left the hotel already. I headed in the general direction of the beach, coming across shopping squares on the way, which is where I met up with Chan, Eduardo, and Khristine.
Chan and I ended up going on together, finding fantastic gelato at Fenocchio, on our journey. We walked around for a few hours, then we split up as he had to go to the hotel. I made my way to the beach, and stayed for a bit, then headed back to the hotel at around 4:30, which was enough time to get ready for dinner, which was provided for us, again. After dinner, we went to Wayne’s Bar, this time early enough to get a table (around 7:30), and just in time for Happy Hour. We drank and dance until the bar closed, then we walked back to the hotel. Nice is a happy place. The weather was great, nice and sunny and warm and even the buildings are brightly coloured, which adds to the ‘happiness’. It’s an extremely busy city, but it was a great place to visit.
