So we were getting a little bored at home.. so i suggested to phil that we see tasmania. since i havent been there before and ive always wanted to go. I brought my parents along as a christmas treat to them. we had an early flight and phil drove us to the airport. hahah he will be the driver for alot of this trip.. just cause i have no clue how to drive a manual. so we get to hobart early and it was cold!!! we go rent a car and drive to the city.. it was quaint. we also check out the market which was pretty cool and decide to drive to the convict colony at port arthur. the car we rented was a manual and since i couldnt drive it and my dad was really tired. it was up to phil to drive us around.. poor phil but he was a trooper. i know he was tired too. the drive to port arthur was long but the scenery was amazing. we stoped along the way to take pics of beaches and mountains. once we reached the convict colony we took a little museum tour that explained living conditions of the convicts which was pretty interesting.. then we took a tour of the grounds where we got to see the governors house and the barracks and prisons. the scenery was really cool. open spaces and lotsa trees and near the harbour. we took a boat ride around the boys island where they keep the adolescent convicts. we drive back to hobart and explore downtown a bit and grab some seafood. it was a good day. but very tiring.
