Sunset on the beach, and clubbing in Gaslamp district

We stopped in Huntington Beach, the surf city USA on the way back. The beach is wide and long, with a pier. The sun was setting and it was getting chilly. In the water, many just had regular swim suits, must be the locals. The town was bustling with shops, restaurants, beach goers, and tourists. The laid-back and mellow California beach culture is so distinctive here. After watching a street show, we had a picnic dinner on the beach before heading back to San Diego.

And the night is still young...

Refreshment, change, makeup again, we got ready to go clubbing. The Gaslamp District at 12:30 was teeming with guys and gals. We checked out a Persian place first, then a club with a rock band wearing wig, then V with techno. None of that is my favorite music, but they didn't charge cover, and it was still fun. By 1:30, the nightclubs started closing. Anne and Nancy N took off their high-heels and walked barefoot back to the parking deck. A white guy, apparently tipsy, called out "Asian evasion" when seeing the 6 of us in the elevator. Oh yeah, San Diego is for Asians!
