the graceful dance of the icebergs.

after an exasperating photo-op in one of the many outlets of vatnajökull glacier, the drive to jökulsárlón icebergs seem to take forever! we passed so many tongues of glaciers and then suddenly into the horizon this big ice wall stood in the middle of the road!
i really thought were going to drive INTO that glacial tongue but dissapointingly no - hahahahaha the ring road continued to snakes its way into the glacial tongues - it was only an illusion from the horizon - and what an illusion that was because we were left with hanging mouths (specially rj :P hahaha) and great anticipation - we were the last car since little shit lada can only drive max 80 kms/h lol were trailing behind ass killa and bandit - slow car we were but i like it! it slowly felt that its becoming "my home" in the entire trip!
as we passed through the super massive vatnajökull glacier - we saw a glacial tongue outlet (later i found out that it's name was breiðamerkurjökull) with the ice bergs coming into full view - suddenly the ass killa stopped IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD lol - they all went out - so's the bandit - and they all crowded into a small opening in the mass of rocks entering the icebergs - actually i think its not allowed to go inside there :D because theres a parking lot provided for visitors still a few kms away :P but since were travbuddies - we break the rules! lol
we were like sheeps herding in the same direction and once we entered the small opening in the rocks .
we excitedly climbed down and the drivers of the cars parked the cars inside those small hill barrier from the road - difficult to explain but somethign like that lol. i nervously asked maike if its ok to go here - she didnt responded to me actually lol - im kinda nervous - because if we get into trouble - like what ive said - theres no philippine embassy in iceland! hahahahahaha.
i kinda AGAIN - segregated myself from them, hopping energetically and taking pics where the guys would not be inside my pics hahahah - but its so hard to take pics - i dont know why - is it iceland always wet? or they sky changes so fast? had to adjust the settings so much that it got to my nerves - and i bumped again - to no suprise - david b. walking up to me and i took pics of him :P and asked him how was the trip so far - and he said he couldnt complain! we were on day 3 of our roadtrip! so far - and so good - no major difficulties or accidents we had encountered - it was running so smoothly!
after some lonely moments in the hill where i stood - i went down to the guys below - i bumped into ashi and as we were walking we heard a LOUD BOOM! like something was cracking and we really saw an iceberg crack! my god!!!! the power of nature works in iceland! i never thought of something like an iceberg cracking and what a sound it was! amazing.
then i saw amber coerced erik into having a picture sitting on an iceberg and erik agreed - he was the man as he really made it! sitting on an iceberg - as usual rj got jealous lol hahahaha he wanted to have a pic too! he chose an iceberg which was a little bit further from the shore - as he waded through the icy water - it got deeper and deeper and as he wabout to climb the iceberg it floated away from him hahahhahahahaa.
it got deeper as rj chased the iceberg until almost to his waist line that he had to come back - he was so wet! hahahahahahahaha but i got to hand it to rj for doing that :D even if he made fool of himself and the laughingstock of the bunch - his determination was admirable.
we had so much fun and laughter in the icebergs - it made our team closer - there were no groups forming nor singling themselves out from the whole group - we were a whole family, for me there's no one there that i can be uncomfortable with, even if i am alone or with someone from the group, i felt at ease - there were just so much laughter and humor - there were no silent moments! and thats unbelievable for a group this size!
as we headed back to the cars - i warned rj to dry himself up! lol i dont want the seats of the lada to get wet as i would be sleeping there in the night - and rj hanged his thermal undewear at one of the poles of the bandit to let it dry while driving - unbelievable!
so we off - and most of the guys decided that it was the best place in iceland they had seen! we drove further east - still under the shadow of vatnajökull glacier - sheesh - it's never ending to drive underneath it!
