My husband had wanted to visit Antartica while it was not even remotely on my mind. But it turned out to be a most unforgettable and wonderful experience. In writing this travelogue I am reliving the journey myself.

Santiago city tour

December 19, 2000
We disembarked at Punta Arenas and flew a charted flight (a little over 3 hours) to Santiago before heading home tonight. We had a city tour of Santiago, went up a park high on a hill, where we had good view of the city.

We flew from Santiago to Miami, then home to Los Angeles about 17 hours later, ending our Antarctic adventure!
