Tonight, we went back into town with some of our new friends: a couple from St. Petersburg and a gentleman from Kazakstan. We were really glad for this opportunity to get to know them better. We had a blast! It was also really funny to see the glances Hungarians were giving to this odd assortment of characters...a couple from America, a couple from Russia, and a man from Kazakstan! What a troop!
We took them up to the castle and told them a bit of the history before walking down the hill and across Chain Bridge; we took the same route we did on Tuesday. We thought it rather funny that here we were in Budapest for the first time with other foreigners, and WE were the tour guides!
After walking back to Pest, we started looking for a place to eat. Our new friends had never eaten at Burger King, and the men were intrigued with the idea of "flame-broiled" burgers and onion rings. So, I can't believe it, but I actually ate at Burger King in Budapest! AAAACK! First McDonald's, now Burger King! Geez! But at least I was introducing it to someone who hadn't had it before! LOL
We got in later than expected (again), but it was worth it. I have wonderful memories of our last night in Budapest.
