Jazz Fest and moving to hotel
Saturday comes and we moved to a hotel for a few nights (we were sharing the condo with friends). Stayed at the Hilton Riverside (Two Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana, United States 70130). Great hotel! Nice river views... We hopped into a cab and headed on over to the hotel, dropped our bags and took the trolley to the Fest. Definitely the way to go! Only a 1.50 (I think) and a really nice ride. These are the newer trolley's that are airconditioned. Again, start at Liuzza's and head on into Fest. BEST food at Fest -- the Crawfish Enchiladas. OH! HEAVEN! Rebirth Brass Band, Irma Thomas, James Taylor. So tough to decide who to see...and if you want to see any act on either of the main stages, bring your running shoes and hit the track.
After Fest, head on back to hotel, shower up and head down to Drago's (At the Hilton Riverside). Famous for their Drago's Original Charbroiled Oysters. Now, I had had a bad experience with raw oysters last time in NOLA. Made me ill. Doesn't make sense cause I've eaten before and been fine. And, I love oysters. Well, I try these, they are cooked. They were OK. I didn't see what the fuss was about. And, they upset my stomach also. Now, friends I know went there for them and LOVED them. Ah well. If you are there, check them out. You might like.
Alright, off to bed and get ready for Sunday Fest!
