Break for lunch and there was heavy construction works
Upset with the situation I boarded the bus heading back to Yerevan after unfortunate circumstances. Arrived Yerevan at 9am the next day I rushed to Iranian Embassy to sort Visa out. The lady at the counter was very helpful. Technically Malaysian doesn’t need pre-entry visa and can get one free at any International Iranian Airport on arrival. My case was different as I don’t want to fly and the custom office at Meghri was closed on Iranian public holiday. The lady suggested to fly and can get 2 weeks visa which takes 2 days to process. At that moment I already bought new bus ticket to Tehran
the next day so I had to get visa the same day. Luckily there was another option in getting quick visa, A Transit Visa valid for 7 days and extendable. I begged her for it to be ready the same day but I was happy enough when she promises to get it early morning the next day before boarding the bus at 10am.
The next day I got the visa and rushed to the Kilikia Central Bus Station Yerevan and off for another 9 hours journey to the same border I was a day earlier. Different Armenian officer but wasn’t a problem, infact a pleasant and welcoming nature. I was let through sooner this time.
It was a very long journey. 9 hours Yerevan to Meghri(Armenian/Iran border), 4 hours to Tabriz
, and another 9 hours to Tehran. I was KNACKERED!
