The first settlement in the Caucasus Mountains to which Caucasian term originated.
The journey from Riga to Tbilisi took 3 hours and I arrived at 4 am. Tbilisi located in Caucasus region. It is at the bottom of Caucasus Mountains-a dividing line between Asia and Europe.

Learned my lesson not to foolishly waste on airport pickup, after exiting the immigration I asked the information counter how much is train or bus to Tbilisi city center . It cost only 0.40tetri (.16 cent) by minibus as oppose to 20 Lari( €8) by taxi. How distinctive fare is that. No wonder as I exiting the airport to the train station 200 meter away, a continuous honking from taxi driver offering a ride to city center. Nope I don’t want, GET IT? But I had to walk back to the airport entrance to take the bus as I was thinking of taking the train earlier on only to know I had to wait another hour.

Young Georgian speaks English and it’s not difficult to converse with local. I mingled with the local boy asking with stop bringing me closer to the Metro station. Just when the bus stop at the metro station I got off and take the metro to 3 stops further brings me closer to the hostel. The metro system is one of the deepest underground train and the longest escalator I’ve ever been. People that afraid of high do not attempt to take Tbilisi metro and you might get heart attack when you step the escalator haha. Seriously it’s like 100 meters continues moving steps down!

I nearly given up in finding the hostel as the hostel decsription from the Metro Station seems pretty easy to find but a nightmare. The street name isn’t using Roman letter but Georgian alphapets like this ქართული "ამწ"რლო'ა. Even though I seems lost, the locals trying their best to give direction in Georgian. The temperature is chilly and I’m carrying 2 backpack front and back, walked for 45 minutes and finally reach the hostel. The owner speaks English fluently and he has the twin bed fully renovated with paint all over the room. The paint smell really annoys me. I passed out 4 hours after getting in my room. Later I went out and headed back to hostel around 6.30 pm. The sunset is around 5.30 pm.

What's for dinner? Macdonald by far is an easy option.
