Cuzco - Day 1 - Start of acclimatisation for Inca trail
After getting another fairly sleepless night bus from Nasca to Cusco (about 14 hours) there wasn't a whole lot on my agenda other than recovering some sleep. The night bus came in to Cusco at about 10 in the morning, and I'd realised about 10 hours earlier that at some point in the trip I'd managed to misplace the luggage receipt that you use to claim your bag at the other end (I think it was cleared away on a food tray). So running on about 3 hours sleep I managed my best Tarzan style spanish for 'Me no ticket here, i have key for bag' and that was good enough for them to hand the backpack over fortunately.
So not a whole lot to blog about today since the middle of it was spent in the land of sleep, one good thing I did find on my brief wanderings of Cusco was that you aren't going to starve here. So many places offer a 3 course set menu for about 10 soles ( US $3) which was very welcome after just a couple of bus sandwiches and biscuits.
