Loch Ness...without Nessie :o((
June 18, 2008
The next morning we had a FANTASTIC breakfast with grilled mushrooms, tomatoes, scrammbled eggs, jam, toast ect. ect. . Before leaving we asked Heather (she runs this place - actualy it's her private house and she has 3 rooms in the basement to let) if it's possible to stay one mire night. Of course she said and she also gave us a little discount for the second night :o).
On the map Loch Ness doesn't look far away - maybe we should have been looking more seriously *lol*
It nearly a 4 hours trip to Fort Augustus, the town on the southern tip of Loch Ness.
After strolling around in Fort Augustus and the bank of Loch Ness we headed further North to Urquart Castle. A wonderful ruin. We spent almost 2 hours there, exploring every corner. We also found a "forgotten prisoner" - poor guy ;o).
