Pick the itinerary of your choice.
Actually it seems like we really have no choice since our schedule is too tight... By the time we arrived at the HK airport we looked at our map to search for the location where we'd meet our tour guide. Luckily we didn't get lost, we found our tour guide, his name's Henry. A hong kong local who speaks cantonese, knows a little tagalog and fluent in english. In fairness, his english is understandable unlike other tour guides we met there. Quite terrible we'd rather look at the map than listen to their explanation.. So he gave us our itineraries for the day, so he said in the afternoon he'll pick us up at the hotel and will be going to victoria's peak, wax museum and the night market. our original plan was disney and stay there until night time for the fireworks, but since we'd also like to see victoria's peak, he said that we could go to ocean park instead of disney.
If we pick disney we cannot make it to victoria's peak because it is quite far and the disney tour wouldn't be complete without the fireworks show. So we discussed about it and decided to go to ocean park and victoria's peak.We paid around HKD600+ for this optional tour, it's quite pricey compared if we'd tour it by ourselves, HKD100+ would be the difference. But it's a hassle-free tour especially for the first-timers in hong kong and for those who have a tight schedule. Then after it's all settled, he gave us our voucher, breakfast coupon and transferred us to our hotel.
Ocean Park Adventure
Let the amazing race begin!... We arrived at ocean park after lunch time, it was too hot.
.. So we better bring bottled water along with us to keep us hydrated. Our tour guide gave us a map for our reference and discussed with us a few things, I was not really listening as I was excited to get inside and could hardly understand her english. Only thing I understand was that we should be at the same meeting place at exactly 5:00.Ocean park is a huge park other parts of it are still under construction. It has two entrance gates by the way, (which is the reason why we got lost, and almost missed the tour bus). It has a lot of escalators, long escalators, good thing they have these so we don't have to climb up the stairs! We went into some dinosaur exhibits and took a few photos with the cavemen.
Here are the few rides we took at ocean park:
Dinosaur Exhibit (forgot the real title)
The Peak Tower (unsure about the name)
Cable Car (how can i forget this ride)
Panda
Jelly fish exhibit
Dolphin show at ocean park theatre (one chinese lady kept on pushing me, don't know why I was just standing there watching the show, some people just really don't have manners.
I missed the mine train, don't think we'd be able to do that, we have to get to the meeting point.. We got to the entrance gate but noticed that it's quite different from the gate where we entered... And the fearful thing happened we were lost, we were at the entrance gate located at the other end of the park. It's too far from the meeting place if we'd walk and go back inside the park, even if we ride the cable car. So we asked the lady near the gate if there's easier and faster way to get to the other entrance gate, she said there's a free shuttle bus ride outside which could take us there for about 15 mins or ride a taxi. She didn't clearly tell us where exactly the bus is, so we roamed around under the scorching heat, we don't even know what it looks like or if it has any logo of ocean park or something.
.. My friend saw one double decker bus, and asked the driver if they offer free shuttle bus ride going to the other side of the park. Luckily, it's the bus we're looking for, but we're 10 minutes late... To make the long story short, we were able to catch up, the tourist guide waited for us and spotted us near the gate.Victoria's Peak
We look wasted when we arrived at Victoria's Peak, but there's no stopping now. We got 3 more activities ride the peak tram, see the wax museum, view hong kong buildings in the sky terrace and eat/buy/roam around at night market. The peak tram was cool, it was a 10-12 minutes ride I think, and we were able to enjoy the view of the surroundings. At the wax museum, we saw different celebrities and well-known personalities like Nicole Kidman, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jacky Chan, Bruce Lee, Queen Elizabeth and other royalties, David Beckham, Muhammad Ali, Pres. Bush, Obama, Clinton, Michael Jackson, Elvis, etc. Sky Terrace was nice also, although we were not able to watch the symphony of lights because we had to be at the meeting point early. Then we ride the bus again going to the night market in Kowloon where we had our dinner and bought some souvenir items.
Inside the suite room, there are 2 bedrooms, 1 double bed, and the other single bed. It has a living area w/ lcd flat tv, dvd player, sofa bed, kitchen, dining table, refrigerator, toilet&bathroom.. Hot & Cold water, Airconditioned. Sadly there's no wi-fi inside the room.
We had a good breakfast inside the hotel's cafe. Other amenities and facilities, gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi and spa.
