Woke up early although we use the term lightly following a terrible nights sleep bouncing around and coming to sudden halts in the middle of no where. At this point we were 15mins out of Luxor so we said our goodbyes to the people we had met that were getting off and now we sit on an almost empty carriage heading further south, you can feel the temperature getting hotter as the air conditioning struggles to cope. Its odd looking out the windows from the right you can see the Nile and green flooded fields but out of the left barren desert and hills. If it were not for the Nile there would be nothing here. About an hours time to Aswan then an easy day I hope, wandering around the temples and visiting islands of the Nile by felucca. Tomorrow is our trip to Abu Simbel or at least I hope it is, will need an three hour bus ride starting at 3am to get us back before the sun is at its strongest so hope all goes well.  Just got back in at 9pm (still no sign of Guinness) been out exploring since we arrived, great local market full of spices and colors, lots of hassle and haggling to be left in peace to look at anything. Have been on our first boat ride across the Nile this afternoon Claire looked abit worried at first since the boat was listing to the right but she relaxed eventually and we are thinking about taking a felucca to see the Temple of Isis Island 8km down stream from Aswan. Arranging this is like haggling for a taxi in Cairo. We like Aswan think might stay an extra night so we don’t have to rush round to see everything, its nice and relaxed after the three days in Cairo but we cant get over the dramatic change in the heat. Its like walking on the sun….. :)
