Since daughter is living home again I am able to use her small motorcycle. Never rode such a modern one, but on this windy but sunny Thursday we decided to give it a try, and so off we went, going east, across the ferry in the direction of Broek in Waterland, and further east passing north from Holysloot, on the way by Zuiderwoude and Uitdam, where we climbed the Waterlandse Zeedijk. This is the old seadike which was needed in old days (before the Afsluitdijk - Closingdike was built) to protect Waterland from flooding. At this very spot you can still see various small volumes of water, small and bigger lakes caused by floods in the past.
After this break we got on our motorcycles again and headed south, passing the nice villages of Ransdorp and Zunderdorp. Here we took a new road, bit of a disappointment, towards Amsterdam. Next time we will stay on the old road surrounded by pastures, and fields. Finding our way through the norther district of Amsterdam we soon reached home again.
However I liked the fact I can cover a bigger area with this motorcycle I still prefer the good old bike, especially for this part of the country.
Nevertheless, it was a well spent afternoon!
